BACKSTORY #1: A DOG NAMED TOM. Joanna Lumley (pictured left) was only 21 when photographer Peter Mullett agreed to shoot her for the now-defunct German magazine, Twen. A prop dog was rented from the Harrods pet department and a location was secured at Wimbledon Common. When the shoot was over, the photographer had no choice but to return Joanna Lumley but the dog was another story. After haggling with the Harrods shop assistant, the dog was paid for and rechristened Tom—going on to live out his short happy life as a photographer’s best friend.
